On Tues., June 30, 2015, in United States District Court, Central District of California, U.S. District Judge Stephen V. Wilson dismissed the First Financial Security class action lawsuit with prejudice.

After repeated attempts by a group of ex-Contractors (beginning in Sept. 2014) to bring a class action lawsuit against First Financial Security, the matter has finally been put to rest.

In his ruling, Judge Wilson granted First Financial Security’s motion to dismiss the complaint based on the lack of jurisdiction.

In the dismissal order, it was noted that the Plaintiffs repeatedly failed to obey the Court’s Local Rules and instructions and Judge Wilson also questioned the amount and methodologies that the Plainitff’s actuary used to arrive at the compensation the Plaintiffs were seeking. Citing a disconnect between the Plaintiff’s evidence and the complaint’s allegations, Judge Wilson dismissed the First Financial Security class action lawsuit.

In addition to deciding whether or not to dismiss the case, the Court also needed to determine if the dismissal should be with prejudice or without prejudice. Citing repeated failures, on the part of the Plaintiffs, to cure the deficiencies of the complaint, Judge Wilson determined that the First Financial Security class action lawsuit was dismissed with prejudice.
