To help, we\u2019ve collected a few easy ways you can observe Financial Literacy Month below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Test Your Financial Knowledge<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Take stock of your financial knowledge and identify the areas in which you could improve. Start by taking a financial literacy quiz, like this one that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.finra.org\/financial_literacy_quiz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FINRA offers<\/a>. After you identify the depth of your knowledge, you can follow up by reading <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/personal-finance\/best-personal-finance-books\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">personal finance books<\/a>, blogs or articles, or by talking to a financial advisor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Create a Budget<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Creating a budget will help you manage your money \u2014 you have to know the numbers in your accounts if you\u2019re going to make them grow. At the very least, a budget helps you track your expenses, keeps you from overspending and allows you to set <a href=\"https:\/\/www.firstfinancialsecurity.com\/post\/five-apps-to-help-you-reach-your-financial-goals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">financial goals<\/a>. It&#8217;s important to review your budget regularly and adjust according to your needs and lifestyle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Review Your Credit Report<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Your credit report is an important tool that lenders use to determine the types of loans for which you can qualify. Reviewing your credit report regularly helps you identify errors or inaccuracies that could be impacting your credit score \u2014 then, you can reach out to the bureau that\u2019s reporting the error so you can clean it off your credit record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can obtain a free copy of your credit report once a year from each of the three major credit bureaus or from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.annualcreditreport.com\/index.action\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Annual Credit Report website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong><em>Start by taking a financial literacy quiz, then follow up by reading personal finance blogs or talking to a financial advisor.<\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Start Saving for Retirement<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s never too early \u2014 or too late \u2014 to start saving for retirement. Whether you contribute to a 401(k) or IRA or you want to start contributing to a cash value life insurance policy for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.firstfinancialsecurity.com\/post\/the-tax-advantages-of-life-insurance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tax advantages<\/a>, the sooner you start saving, the more you can take advantage of compound interest.
