Community Outreach"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\">[vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/1&#8243;][vc_column_text animation=&#8221;none&#8221; animation_delay=&#8221;200&#8243;]Several <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.firstfinancialsecurity.com\/leadership-team\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">First Financial Security, Inc. employees<\/a> <\/strong>and their family members volunteered on behalf of <strong>LiSA Initiative<\/strong> to give away nearly <strong>800 free pairs of athletic shoes<\/strong> at Roswell (GA) Day of Hope. \u00a0LiSA, the FFS-sponsored, grassroots women\u2019s movement, was one of several area organizations participating in the daylong community outreach event on\u00a0Apr. 25, 2015 in Roswell\u2019s Mimosa neighborhood.<\/p>\n<p>This is the seventh year <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hoperoswell.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"no follow noopener noreferrer\">Hope Roswell<\/a>, a group of community churches, has banded together to stage the event at Mimosa Elementary School, located in an area that has struggled economically in recent years. <strong>LiSA sponsored the festival\u2019s popular shoe tent<\/strong> and, in addition to handing them out, was tasked with getting the athletic shoes donated by area businesses.<\/p>\n<p><strong>More than 1,200 families attended the festival<\/strong>, where they were treated to complimentary haircuts, eye exams, health screenings, and of course, tennis shoes. \u00a0<strong>A local restaurant provided plenty of good food, and music filled the air.<\/strong> Children enjoyed train rides and arcade-style games, as well as competing in soccer and basketball.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lisainitiative.com\/lisa-event\/roswell-day-of-hope-hope-roswell\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">LiSA\u2019s outreach program<\/a> provides an entr\u00e9e into neighborhoods that need its services.<\/strong> Involvement with <strong>Roswell Day of Hope<\/strong> is helping LiSA build relationships with community leaders and citizens in the Mimosa neighborhood, where it hopes to provide <strong>bilingual financial literacy programs<\/strong> this fall.<\/p>\n<p><strong>LiSA Initiative was created to address the financial concerns<\/strong> that women from all walks of life experience every day in this country. By <strong>providing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lisainitiative.com\/lisa-in-action\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">financial education<\/a>, training and mentoring, and an entrepreneurial opportunity,<\/strong> LiSA helps women take control of their lives and make the positive changes necessary to achieve financial security.<\/p>\n<p>But <strong>LiSA\u2019s concern also extends to the men and youth of America<\/strong> who, along with women, are <strong>not receiving even a basic financial education<\/strong> \u2013 in school or in the home. Without an understanding of how money works, people cannot make smart decisions about their personal finances, and it can lead to devastating consequences.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This challenge compelled LiSA Initiative to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lisainitiative.com\/about-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">lead a Financial Literacy movement<\/a> in America.<\/strong> LiSA\u2019s goal is to ensure that all people have access to a solid financial education that will put them on track to achieve financial security and peace of mind.<\/p>\n<p><strong>LiSA is enlisting many organizations from around the country in its cause.<\/strong> The organization recently partnered with National Financial Educators Council (NFEC). By combining the NFEC\u2019s established financial education curriculum with LiSA Initiative\u2019s financial literacy coursework, LiSA Literacy Project was born.
